Kieran Stanton is an emerging artist based in Belmont, Western Australia. He has trained in a broad range of artistic practices, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, and printmaking, within the context of Education. His work often reflects his journey of self-exploration, personal healing, and growth.
Kieran's self-taught minimalist style first took shape through graphic novels in high school, several of which were later self-published. His early illustrations were predominantly black and white, with minimal to no use of colour, tone or texture. Formal education later introduced him to realism and painting, expanding his practice and introducing the use of colour. Over time, these painting skills naturally transitioned into digital art, in which he continues to develop his craft.
Recent works are imbued with a more optimistic tone, often focused on his own personal experiences. While these pieces explore themes of self-reflection, healing, and growth, Kieran aims to expand his focus to include the experiences of others. His evolving approach to art reflects his ongoing journey toward self-love and personal development.
Art has always been close to Kieran's heart. As a child, his countless drawings and projects formed the detritus of his space, and he often found himself sketching during class. What a curious twist of fate that he now works in Education. Since 2021, Kieran has undergone significant life changes - many of them challenging - but art has been a consistent source of healing, allowing him to rediscover its transformative impact.
For Kieran, art is a deeply personal process of healing. Following a difficult period in his life, it became a therapeutic tool for processing emotions and expressing ideas. Now diagnosed with ADHD, Kieran has always found that words often fell short of what he wished to express. Through digital art, he can communicate in a way that feels truer to his intentions. His art serves as a visual language, allowing him to share what might otherwise remain unsaid.
